The recipe suggests that I remove all the skin from the whole chicken with a boning knife before I start. That would take too much time in my opinion. The recipe also directs me to press down on the breastbone of the bird to flatten the chicken. I don't do this either. I do season to taste and from that point on, I do follow the directions and can serve cajun whole chicken in just over a half-hour.
Rye and barley are grains which take a long time to soften so these are not recommended for slow cooking. Soak grains in water before slow cooker hole chicken cooking them and you will speed up their cooking time.
Stick to lean roast meats and fresh fish, with a side of fresh vegetables and salad. Desserts can be a sugar-laden nightmare, so stick with natural un-sweetened yoghurt, fresh fruit, baked apples with chopped nuts and a little honey, or as is popular in Europe, a nice selection of mixed cheeses.
Lots of restaurants have themes, but Lafayette Fire Company No. 1 has a firehouse theme full of good-natured fun and hearty food. At the end of your meal, you can even round your bill up and donate to either Backstoppers or Missouri Children's Burn Camp. Enjoy such foods as Parmesan Encrusted Walleye, Captain Bob's Spedini Kebob, or slow cooked cajun whole chicken Alfredo.
I love chili, but the beans don't love me. When I eat them I have severe abdominal pain. So I leave out the beans and add other vegetables. The powder you buy in the grocery store is a combination of chili pepper, oregano, cumin, garlic, and salt. Sometimes I add extra cumin to this powder.
Avoid the office enabler's advances. You know the type. The thin person in your office who bakes incessantly, offering their delicious danishes and creamy cakes around, but never eating them? They're called enablers and for some reason they get a kick out of people eating their treats. The best way to avoid consuming them is to say a polite "no thank you" and move on. It's impossible for most people (myself included!) to "just have one" muffin or cookie or piece of slice. Once you taste these treats you begin to reason with yourself that another two or three (or more!) pieces won't hurt. They will.
Maybe you are not in the mood for steak? Then you can get some fabulous seafood like Jumbo shrimp with seasoned butter and deep fried by hand. Broiled Walleye is also available at Guldens Restaurant and Bar in Woodville, Minnesota. You can get a good seafood dinner for about $17 and all the seafood dinners come with salad and soup.
Chicken is a fantastic topping for pizza. Everybody loves pizza but not everybody likes the high sodium or sausage kind of meats on pizza. Chicken is a versatile meat that will work wonders with pizza. BBQ chicken pizza tends to be a favorite but some people have used pizza with lots of vegetables as a pizza topping.
