If you make up a double batch of a quick easy ground beef recipe, you have the base of a myriad other meals. You can transform the leftovers into a Shepherd's Pie Recipe, Beef Enchilada Recipe or an Easy Eggplant Recipe whereby eggplant is baked and rolled around the ground beef.
Which were surprisingly... not terrible. The fritters were a mite chewy, but the closest I'd come to hush puppies before was wearing them, so what did I know. The Brussels sprouts were dense, but Brussels sprouts are dense. The olives were indestructible. The crockpot meatballs could have been fishing weights, but, like the mushrooms and peas, slid down easily, and the sour cream even tasted good on the cherries.
Chips and dips are a great idea. Salsa can be served over cream cheese and served with tortilla chips. Do not order a big deli sandwich... make one. You can use several loaves of French bread or round artisan loaves. Fill them with deli cold cuts and cheeses wrap them swedish meatballs up and put them in the fridge. When you are ready for them, cut and serve. You can even warm them in the oven if you want to.
Don't eat your food too fast. As you eat slow cooker meatballs take moderate bites and as you feel full stop eating. If you're eating too quickly, you're likely going to overeat. Remembering a few simple tricks can make losing weight a lot easier.
I have even had some recipes for main dishes ruined this way, such as one for Sweet and Sour Chicken that was diluted and overcooked while I followed the recipe. And I did follow it--to the letter-which is what I always do when testing a recipe.
